Easter

Easter Baskets
Easter morning started off with the children opening their Easter Baskets.

This is Mia's first Easter. She has enjoyed getting all dressed up in her dress that twirls. She has also learned more about the life of Jesus. Over Christmas she learned many details about Jesus' birth and for months she has played dress up as Mary. This Easter season she has learned about Jesus dieing on the cross. She tells how Jesus had the crown of thorns put into His head and how it hurt. She then said when Jesus died on the cross there was "No more Jesus". She always says this with great sadness. We didn't want her to stop there in her understanding. She has learned that Jesus came back to life on Easter morning! We have used the simplified version of the Resurrection Eggs to illustrate this for her. Thanks to her wonderful pre-school teacher sending these home with the children.

Beautiful Sisters!

All Dressed Up!

Ready to go to church. We went to North Point Community Church. Andy Stanley delivered a wonderful message entitled "There is Nothing Religious About it". The link to the message is as follows http://www.northpoint.org/messages

Cousins already for Church.

After church the rest of the cousins, aunts, uncle and grandmother came for dinner and the enjoy the festivities. This is a picture of Mia & Megan giving their Aunt a present for their new little cousin due to arrive in 3-4 weeks. It's a girl! That will help even things out a bit. Right now there are 8 boys and 4 girls.

There is the clan with grandmother. Someone down front wasn't too happy she had to stop playing in order to have the picture taken.
LOL
Silly Boys! Zachary, Jonathan and cousin M.

Mia and Cousin N. waiting for the Egg Hunt to begin with their buckets on their heads.

Ready, Set, Go!
We let them go in youngest to oldest order, though I am not sure that helped any. I think this was the last year hunting for the 3 who are now teenagers. Next year they will be the ones to hide the eggs. It was wonderful to see each of them enjoying the egg hunt. These days are so quickly fleeting.

Mia finding her eggs. She has this down now!

Megan on the run!

After an egg hunt and dinner the children all decorated their own Easter Cookie. Here is Zachary enjoying his. He always tries to see how many toppings he can fit on anything edible.

Cousin J. with his cookie.

What a beautiful cookie cousin M. !

I think cousin A. might have Zachary beat with the most toppings!
It was a long day! I can't believe how long this post is! What fun to celebrate our Saviour's birth with family. It is always a great day when everyone has the opportunity to be together.
